Wednesdays, 3-4:15pm, 3/4-5/13 - $265 for 10 weeks

Created by artist Maureen Claffy, Art Club Kids: Draw and Paint for Life is a screen-free STEAM program. This analog art program supports higher levels of mathematical reasoning by teaching an understanding of geometric shapes in space. It also supports emotional regulation and builds self-confidence and communication skills.

The program adapts to the changing needs of young artists and is completely new every week and every school year.

We turn geometric shapes into objects to capture children's imaginations while imparting technical drawing skills, using high-quality art supplies.

- Session 1: Circle -> Sphere, Oval -> Cylinder (Fall, completed)
- Session 2: Square -> Cube, Rectangle -> Rhomboid (Winter)
- Session 3: Ribbon, Triangle -> Pyramid (Spring)

All supplies are provided for classroom use and students also receive a custom-printed ArtCard with the week's lesson.

One Book, One School Is Here!

2/13/2026 5:23 pm

It’s time for One Book, One School! We will be reading Legends of Lotus Island #1: The Guardian Test. (Click here for a short book trailer). The books will be coming home with your youngest Prospect child on Tuesday, 2/17. b

What is One Book, One School? It is a program designed to create a shared reading experience within a school community, while encouraging the habit of family reading. Every Prospect family receives the same book to read together at home. Our schedule (coming with your book) suggests you read about 30 pages a week, which can build the habit of reading together. However, do what works for your family! We hope that your family will simply enjoy reading together.

Children of all ages can benefit from hearing a story read aloud. Research shows that hearing a story read aloud sharpens the imagination, promotes comprehension and vocabulary, and helps children love reading. Additionally, when families read together, it strengthens their emotional bonds and helps provide positive parent-child connections essential to a child’s psychological health and academic growth.*

Love Your Library -- Donate a Book

2/13/2026 5:12 pm

Looking for a great way to make a lasting contribution to Prospect School? Donate a book to the Prospect Library! Mrs. Swanson and Mrs. Bodrozic have added books to this Amazon Wishlist that we would like for the library. Simply choose an item, ADD YOUR CHILD'S NAME AND CLASS TO THE "GIFT MESSAGE" and buy it. It will be shipped to Prospect. If you have any trouble with adding your child's name, please email Mrs. Bodrozic: abodrozic@d181.org. We've received a few books that we do not know who they are from!

Your child’s name and school photo will be placed in the front of the book. When it’s ready, we will offer it to them to check out first. If needed, we will keep adding to the wishlist until the end of February. Thank you so much for showing our Prospect library some love with new books!
