5th-Grade Cup Stacking Champions!

In honor of the Winter Olympics, Ms. Duffy's 5th-grade students competed in a cup stacking challenge with the top 9 scorers going head to head for the gold! Congratulations to Travis, Anna, and Londyn! What an amazing job!

Curling Introduction in PE!

Thanks to Mrs. Richardson (our fabulous school nurse) for arranging an indoor curling opportunity for our Prospect students! Students learned the basics of curling and had the opportunity to "take it to the house" during class! For any parents interested, the Windy City Curling Club has two open houses coming up!

Parent-Daughter Dance Tickets Are on Sale!

Calling all Prospect girls! Dress up in your best enchanted outfit and join us for an evening of dancing and fun on 4/18 in the Prospect Gym.

Please take advantage of the early-bird pricing, $25 per person ($50 for a couple), and sign up by March 8th. After March 8th, the cost will be $30 per person. This is the last week to support our PTO and enjoy heart-shaped pizzas for Valentine's Day! Choose from a variety of take-and-bake pizzas, a DIY personal pizza kit, as well as salads and desserts for an easy and fun meal. Follow the QR code or click this link to order. Kane County Cougars Reading Club

COUGAR READING CLUB

For the next 8 weeks, Prospect School is participating in the Cougars Reading Club, a reading incentive program sponsored by the Kane County Cougars. Students have the opportunity to reach a specific reading goal, earn a free ticket to a Kane County Cougars game, a free hot dog and drink to enjoy during the game, and participate in a parade on the field before the game.

Reading Goals include:
Kindergarten: 45 min. per week
Grades 1, 2, 3, 5: 100 min. per week
Grade 4: 1 novel every 2 weeks

This 8-week program is divided into 4 two-week segments, with each segment representing a base on the baseball diamond. If a student meets their goal for a 2-week period, they advance to the next base. A verification form will be sent home electronically every two weeks for parents to fill out if their child met their goal. At the completion of the 8 weeks (a home run!), an order form will be sent home with all qualifying students for a free ticket to the ballgame on May 29. Additional tickets for family and friends can be purchased through this order form as well. For more information, please see the attached flyer.

PROSPECT’S DAY AT THE BALLPARK

To celebrate the end of the school year, all Prospect families are invited to the ballpark on May 29! The Kane County Cougars play at 6:30 p.m., and our very own Prospect Choir will be on the field to sing the National Anthem! All families that order tickets through the Cougar Reading Club will be blocked in a “Prospect” seating area. We hope to see you there!
