Thursday, February 5th, 2026

Theme Fine Arts: music, art, dance, literature (non-religious)

Join us for a celebration of cultures from around the world at Prospect’s One World Night! This special event brings our community together to share the rich diversity of our families.
Enjoy a vibrant international fair featuring dishes contributed by Prospect families, and explore our showcase highlighting music, dance, and art from around the globe.

One World encourages cultural curiosity, promotes learning and appreciation of global traditions, and strengthens our sense of connection as a worldwide community.

Please use the link to sign-up to represent a country and/or to help with an activity center. 

This year we would like students to showcase singing, dancing, playing a traditional song/instrument, reading a poem or art from their country. Each country can coordinate their showcase based on preference. Performance schedule will be determined by the end of the year.

Art Club Kids: Afterschool Art Enrichment

Tuesdays, 3-4:15pm, 12/2-1/27 - $265 for 10 weeks

Created by artist Maureen Claffy, Art Club Kids: Draw and Paint for Life is a screen-free STEAM program. This analog art program supports higher levels of mathematical reasoning by teaching an understanding of geometric shapes in space. It also supports emotional regulation and builds self-confidence and communication skills.

The program adapts to the changing needs of young artists and is completely new every week and every school year.

We turn geometric shapes into objects to capture children's imaginations while imparting technical drawing skills, using high-quality art supplies.

- Session 1: Circle -> Sphere, Oval -> Cylinder (Fall, completed)
- Session 2: Square -> Cube, Rectangle -> Rhomboid (Winter)
- Session 3: Ribbon, Triangle -> Pyramid (Spring)

All supplies are provided for classroom use and students also receive a custom-printed ArtCard with the week's lesson.

All teachers are personally selected by Maureen and fully trained in her method. Fully insured, documentation provided. All teachers pass background checks.

Author Visit and Autographed Books for Grades K-1

Prospect School is delighted to welcome author Refe Tuma on Thursday, November 13th. He is the author of the popular "What the Dinosaurs Did..." series! Mr. Tuma will talk with students about his career as author and discuss his books with kindergarteners and first graders on Thursday, November 13. To order a personalized autographed copy of his books please return this form to the Prospect library by November 13. (It was also sent home on paper with your kindergartener or first grader.)

This is a great opportunity to learn more about PTO volunteer roles, get updates/give input on current projects, and answer any questions you may have. All are welcome and encouraged to attend!
