One Author, One School

9/1/2023 1:55 pm

We are thrilled to be starting “One Author, One School!” in October! Students and families will have the opportunity to explore the a few of the works of best-selling author/illustrator Peter Brown. Thanks to our PTO, every Prospect student will receive a book by Peter Brown (that’s right, each student, not just each family)! The goal of this program is to generate excitement about reading and encourage the habit of family reading. We are excited to include the newest Wild Robot book, which is being released on September 26!

Please select the book(s) you and your child(ren) wish to receive by filling out THIS FORM by Sunday, September 10. Here are the book choices:

Picture book:
Will You Be My Friend: Today is the day the exuberant Lucy is going to make a new friend! But she finds it's harder than she had thought. Just when she's about to give up, an unexpected friend finds her, and loves her just the way she is. (Recommended for grades K-1)

Illustrated Novels:

The Wild Robot (#1)
When robot Roz opens her eyes for the first time, she discovers that she is all alone on a remote, wild island. She realizes that her only hope for survival is to adapt to her surroundings and learn from the island's unwelcoming animal inhabitants.

The Wild Robot Escapes (#2)
Can robot Roz survive the challenges of the civilized world and find her way home to Brightbill and the island?

The Wild Robot Protects (#3)
When mysterious, dangerous waters surround robot Roz’s island, the animals are forced inland to fight over dwindling resources. Roz calms and organizes the animals, but the poison tide takes a terrible toll on the island. So the wild robot sets out across the ocean, determined to stop the poison tide.

If you do not select which book(s) you would like to receive, Prospect staff will select one for you. If you have any questions, contact Mrs. Swanson - rswanson@d181.org.
