Does Your Child Need Mental Health, Learning or Behavioral Support?

10/14/2023 10:35 am

The Parent List contains first-hand insight from D86, D181 and D63 parents about area providers that have helped address their child’s anxiety; depression; school avoidance; eating disorders; insomnia; peer relations; grief; stress; ADD/ADHD; autism spectrum and more.

The Parent List is comprised of helpful resources in our community that have already been used by a parent experiencing similar concerns to you. Doctors, therapists, support groups, inpatient and outpatient programs, tutors, nutritionists, books and holistic medical approaches may all be reviewed on The Parent List.

Much like Angie’s List, The Parent List relies on consumer feedback...to read existing Parent List reviews, go to hcpto.org/parent-list/

Questions can be directed to: parentlist@hcpto.org

Find all the information HERE.

***In no way does the Hinsdale Central or Prospect School PTOs, Hinsdale Central High School or Prospect School staff, school districts 86, 63 or 181 endorse or recommend any specific provider reviewed on The Parent List. The Parent List is a subjective forum set up by the Hinsdale Central PTO for your convenience. Parents and guardians are solely responsible for deciding to use any of the service providers on The Parent List in any capacity, and district 86, district 63, district 181 and the Hinsdale Central and Prospect School PTOs disclaim all liability for any damages, injuries, losses, expenses, or claims of any kind arising out of the provision of services by anyone or any agency appearing on The Parent List.

Pennies for Penn

10/14/2023 10:31 am

As Prospect students get ready for the fun of the fall book fair on October 19th and 20th, they will have the opportunity to try to win a new book and a Prospect Paw while helping students from our sister school, William Penn Elementary at the same time!

Students should have brought home a plastic bag with a “raffle ticket” attached this weekend. To participate, complete the “raffle ticket” and start filling the bag with loose change!

Students should bring their bag and raffle ticket with them when they visit the book fair with their class. Your child will be entered into a drawing to win one of five new books. The drawing will take place on Friday, October 20th.

All loose change will be used to support our sister school outreach activities - thank you for your help!

Share the Warmth: Coat, Hat & Mitten Drive

10/14/2023 10:24 am

Share the warmth of a coat, hat or mittens with a student in need this fall!

The Prospect PTO along with our 5th grade students will be collecting new and gently used coats, snow pants, boots, gloves and mittens of all sizes along with new winter hats from October 16-20th for students at our sister school, William Penn Elementary.

Donations will be collected in car line by 5th grade volunteers and inside all student entry doors. Donations can also be brought to Family Reading Night. Thank you for supporting Penn!

The robot invasion is coming soon! We hope all of our Prospect artists and engineers are hard at work planning and building their family robots to be displayed at school October 16-20, including at Family Reading Night. Please label your robot with your student’s name(s) and grade(s). We will provide index cards on the morning of October 16th for anyone needing to label their robot creation.

We also hope you are enjoying reading the works of Peter Brown at home together! Our One Author, One School festivities will culminate on Thursday, October 19th from 6-8pm at The Wild Robot Family Reading Night! Whether you have a few minutes or the whole evening, we invite you to join us to enjoy a variety of activities, including: a robotics demonstration by the Cummings boys and their robotics team, a photobooth, opportunities to learn to draw Roz and build her a lodge from Keva planks, coding ozobots, and much more!

Music Volunteers Needed!

10/6/2023 12:15 pm

The Music Committee invites Prospect parents to fill open volunteer spots for fall music classes. Volunteers attend music class and use a school iPad to take photo/video footage to post to the class’s Seesaw account. This is a great way to see first-hand what your child is working on in Music!

If you would like to sign up to volunteer in class OR during our upcoming music performances, please sign up here.  For questions, reach out to musicvolunteers@prospectschoolpto.org.

The Music Committee is also looking for a tech savvy parent to be our Music Website Volunteer. If you would like to volunteer for this role, please sign up here. For more information on this position, reach out to Mrs. Kozakis: ekozakis@d181.org.
