The Familiar Adventure Starts Monday!

10/18/2024 4:15 pm

All families that have chosen to build their own animal familiar to be displayed at Reading Night should deliver their animal friends to school on Monday, October 21st. Please label your creation with your student(s) name(s) and grade(s) and your animal familiar’s name (if it has one!). We will provide index cards on the morning of October 21st for anyone needing to label their creation. All of our new robot friends will be displayed in the foyer leading up to Family Reading Night on Thursday, October 24th. All animal friends will be returned to students on Friday to live out their happy lives at home.

Lauren Magaziner Author Visit

10/18/2024 3:51 pm

We are thrilled to be hosting author Lauren Magaziner, the author of Marina and the Kraken and the rest of the Mythics series, as well as the Case Closed series and more! She will give a presentation and Q&A to students in the afternoon of Thursday, Oct. 24, so remind your children to get their questions ready!

Additionally, she will be at Family Reading Night, where she will do short readings at 6:15 and 7:15. She will be available for a meet and greet, photos, and book signings during the rest of Family Reading Night in the gym. Her books will be available for purchase from the book fair.

If you would like your Marina and The Kraken book autographed, we ask that you bring it in ahead of time to the library on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday morning with your child’s name and class on a sticky note. Lauren will sign it and we will get it back to you.

Please contact Mrs. Swanson (rswanson@d181.org) with any questions.

Kindergarten students have been hard at work in the music room growing their skills to become tuneful, beatiful, artful humans! They would like to share their work with a Very Important Person (this can be a parent, grandparent, relative, or grown-up friend). VIPs are invited to the Prospect music room at the times listed below to hear a short explanation of our music curriculum, and then participate in music class alongside their Prospect student. We can’t wait to see all of our VIPs there!
