4th & 5th graders: Student Leadership Club is Back!
10/28/2023 10:17 am
The Student Leadership Committee has been busy developing a leadership series designed to help 4th and 5th graders build a foundation they can use for the rest of their lives.
We plan to kick off with our first event on Nov 8, after school, bringing in 6th to 8th grade CHMS student leaders to talk leadership from their perspective, with an introduction to the conversation by Principals Kristin Cummings (Prospect) and Levi Brown (CHMS).
This will be followed by a Q&A and a hands-on leadership activity for our students. Interested 4th and 5th graders should submit their signed permission slip (attached) to their classroom teachers by November 7th.
Prospect ❤️ Penn
10/28/2023 10:08 am
A great big THANK YOU to the Prospect Community for supporting our Sister School, William Penn Elementary, during the month of October. You showed up in a BIG way and we are incredibly grateful!
Coat Drive - Thanks to our 5thGrade team and students, including Yuko Gato, Miles Lindemeyer, Dev Patel, Aria DeCourcy, Joellen Wang, Norah Darin, Kaylen Thukral, Devan Goel, Sabrina Mao, Kira Turano, Ava Zymali, Megan Mulligan, Aislinn Moran, Sasha Sandhu and Sophie Xu. We were able to collect and sort a huge amount of winter gear and the administration at Penn was very appreciative. The coats arrived just in time to be handed out at Parent Teacher conferences this week.
Pennies for Penn - Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of the Prospect Community, Pennies for Penn collected $1,078.45! More than one thousand dollars! This money goes directly to support our efforts at Penn this year, including store purchases, teacher appreciation and support for the administration. We recently purchased binders for every middle school student to support their studies this year. Congratulations to all of our raffle winners too!
Grand Opening of the Ollie Store - We were so excited to welcome the students and teachers back to the Ollie store! Every student was able to visit the store, purchase items with their earned Ollie bucks and choose a free book for their home libraries! Thank you to our parent volunteers, Bridget Demartino, Cytandra Hoover, Amanda Lizzadro, Tami Croff, and Michael Oliviero for your instrumental help in the store this month.
Penn Teacher Appreciation - Thank you to the amazing generosity of parent volunteers providing treats for the teachers at Penn and stocking the lounge, including Jessica Kaczmarski, Trisha Wilson, Harley Houser, Tami Croff, and Nicole Turano. They most definitely are enjoying their sweet and salty snacks!
We are always looking for volunteers to join us on our visits. Please visit our Sign Up Genius HERE. Note that we have changed the December store visit to December 13th and would love it if you could join us and share the joy of meeting these kids!
